Welcome to the traditional cafe in Bad Gleichenberg. In the middle of the center, directly on the main square is the Cafe Columbia.
In the middle of the historic spa town of Bad Gleichenberg is the Cafe Columbia. Almost everyone knows this name! The historic building offers a truly fairytale ambience on the edge of the spa gardens in Bad Gleichenberg. A wonderfully shady terrace invites you to linger even in summer.
Short insight into the history of the "Villa Karlsruhe": In 1883, the building was built by master baker Carl Mayr. He ran a bakery in the Carolinenhof, and moved his business here after its completion. In 1925, the centrally located villa was sold to the municipality of Bad Gleichenberg, which used it as a municipal office until the purchase of the Charlottenhof (now an elementary school). Since 1973 the Villa Karlsruhe has been owned by the Ernst Pfeiler family. The family renovated and extended the villa and runs the "Cafe Columbia" in it.
