Entirely under the motto "Nature - Energy - Region - Peace", this monument is intended as a reminder of values that are valid for all times.
Ten years ago, a successful world record attempt took place as part of the 2nd South Styrian Advent Run. Since then, the world's largest lantern powered by bioenergy has stood in Mureck. It was lit during the Advent Run with the Light of Peace from Rome and is in operation every year at Christmas time. In the meantime, the lantern has become a landmark of Mureck. Until now, the lantern was powered by biodiesel.
Now there is a change with the conversion from biodiesel to solar power. It remains the largest lantern of its kind.
