Near a chapel, the cows of the Suppan family graze in Unterauersbach in the thermal & volcanic region of Styria. The lush meadows and the comfortable barn provide holistic well-being for the animals.
In Unterauersbach adjacent to the Zinskapelle is the dairy farm which was rebuilt in 1999-2000 by Herta and Alois Suppan. Spacious straw beds, a mother calf box and a new milking parlor provide space and comfort for about 20 cows within the stables. Furthermore, a year-round outdoor running yard was built, which gives the cows room for exercise around the clock, hay from the farm's own meadows is offered, and a cow comfort brush is available. The cows graze on the hilly lush meadows during the summer months and receive additional feed in the form of silage every day.
As sustainability and regionality are becoming increasingly important, Stefan decided to set up direct marketing in 2016. The products are offered in returnable jars and thus a great contribution is made to sustainability.
