Rathaus Feldbach in der Villa Hold

Feldbach

Since July 16, 2023, the city administration has been located in its new town hall - the neo-Gothic style Villa Hold at Rathausplatz 1.

From the former, private house, which can look back on a 130-year, eventful history, a modern and functioning building was created in the course of the 2-year careful and functional restoration. As such, it now houses the seat of the mayor and the entire city administration, and the meetings of the municipal council and the city council will also be held here in the future.

Together with the equally careful renovation of the church with the surrounding squares in recent years, the new town hall district has been created, as it were in the heart of the city: an important sign for the city of Feldbach on its way into a good and positive future.

The history of Villa Hold

Josefine Hold was called the "Countess of the Raab Valley", she promoted, among other things, the cultural life of Feldbach, participated in the district as an amateur archaeologist by opening numerous Roman-period burial mounds and as a local historian in Bad Gleichenberg.
In 1920, the savings bank acquired the building and moved there together with the post office. In 1973 the music school and the

The Villa Hold finally came into the possession of the municipality, which renovated the facade and roof of the building in 1998/99 the facade and roof of the building. When it was built, Villa Hold even towered over the old parish church for a short time. With its extension in the years 1898 to 1900, the "old order of rank or height" was restored. the initials of the builder "J.H." can still be found above the main entrance in a rosette.
