In order to do justice to the village's epithet "in the rose valley", the municipality decided in 2003 to build a unique rosarium in the leisure park, which was ceremoniously opened one year later. In the meantime, the magnificent rose park has developed into a real crowd puller, where rose lovers can marvel at over 500 rose bushes with 300 different varieties, especially from the end of May to the beginning of July.
In addition to wild roses, historical, modern and English roses, there is also the not everyday "Green Rose" (Rosa viridiflora) to admire in the Rosarium. A walk along the different rose varieties also provides visitors with a unique scent experience. If you would like more detailed information about the individual varieties, you can obtain it from the two rose caretakers by calling the municipal office in advance.
In addition, there is a "Rose Trail" in St. Stefan im Rosental, which is entirely dedicated to the vinegar rose, because its five petals are assigned the basic elements with corresponding characteristics: Earth - Plants - Fire - Air - Water.
