The Nature Conservation Association purchased a piece of meadow south of Bad Blumau as a feeding area for the storks that land in the village every year and raise their young in the nest. The aim of the Bad Blumau stork meadow project is to rewet a meadow area.
The mild climate of the thermal spa community of Bad Blumau also seems to suit the storks. The nest on the chimney by the parish church is visible from afar. 500 m south of Bad Blumau, they find food for rearing their young from around Easter until late summer. This renaturalized wet meadow is a project of the Styrian Nature Conservation Association.
