The Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union bought a meadow south of Bad Blumau as a feeding area for storks. The project Storchenwiese Bad Blumau aims at the rewetting of a meadow area.
Storks also seem to like the particularly mild climate south of Bad Blumau. They build their nests there from around Easter time to late summer. Their nests on the chimneys can be seen from afar.
