The storks land in Bad Blumau every year in the middle/end of March. The nest opposite the parish church in Bad Blumau is prepared by the stork couple for the young storks.
The mild climate of the thermal spa town of Bad Blumau also seems to favour the storks. The nest on the chimney is visible from afar. 500 metres south of Bad Blumau, they find food for rearing their young from around Easter until late summer. This renaturalised wet meadow, known as the "stork meadow", is a project of the Styrian Nature Conservation Association.
