We make wine. With the tree press, dedication and great respect for nature. At Frauenberg in Bad Gleichenberg, we cultivate our vineyards and press our grapes. And we do it particularly gently - as it was centuries ago: with a large wooden press made of oak. Only in this way can we use all our sensitivity and exploit the potential of our grapes.
If you are offered a Zweigelt Frauenberg or a Morillon Frauenberg, you will not say no! And not only because they are excellent drops, but also because they were made in a gentle way with a tree press, as was common centuries ago, but is very rare today.
In the old wine cellar of the winemaking family, built in 1723, bare chrome barrels are stored next to wooden barrels. The red wines are fermented and aged 100 percent in oak barrels. The vineyard is located at the highest point of the Frauenberg in Waldsberg near Bad Gleichenberg. The special feature of this vineyard is its southeastern exposure and the Pannonian climate influence, which, together with the sandy loam soil, creates the best conditions for full-bodied wines.
