On the Himmelkogel over Griesmoarkogel
"The Heavenly:"
This heavenly hike takes you to three peaks in the region, the Griesmoarkogel, the Himmeleck and the Himmelkogel. Remember to pack enough snacks, as the hike is a long one.
Highlight: 3 summits
This attractive mountain tour in the northern part of the Seckauer Tauern starts in the glacial Triebental, which already gives you an idea of the beautiful hiking area we are heading to during the car ride. With the well-known Bergerhube we reach a perfect starting point (with camping possibility) for numerous hikes. The tour convinces with three summits and the new modern summit cross on the Griesmoarkogel. This ridge hike from one elevation to the other is an experience in itself, with the view exceeding all expectations on fine days: from the view into the heart of the Seckauer Tauern over the Liesingtal with the Eisenerzer Alps behind it to the Gesäuseberge. After the impressive summit and ridge landscape, the descent leads to the rustic Moaralm hut, which has already been managed by Luise and Ernst for 24 years.

More information
From Trieben an der Pyhrn freeway A 9 via B114 in the direction of Hohentauern. After about 8 km turn left into the Triebental. The Bergerhube with the parking lot is located at the end of the Triebental road (14 km, approx. 20 minutes).
From Judenburg via the B114 to Hohentauern and continue to the turn-off on the right into the Triebental (50 km, approx. 50 minutes)
We start at the Bergerhube (1412 m) and hike along a slightly ascending forest road - in the direction of the Moaralm - to the Bärensuhlsattel junction. On the trail we go uphill in the forest, crossing forest roads and passing a wooden hut. After a short time we reach a forest-free slope and then the Bärensuhlsattel (1794 m), where we hike left uphill to the Griesmoarkogel (2009 m). After a short descent we hike uphill to the Himmeleck (2096 m) and continue left (not marked) to the Himmelkogel (2017 m). The descent leads steeply - along a fence - to the Moartörl (1714 m) and further along the marked hiking trail to the Moaralm and along the forest road to the Bergerhube.
On the way down you pass the Moaralm, a stop there is definitely worth it.
There is no public transport connection to the starting point of the tour.
