Hartberg Kaindorf Hartberg via Marterlweg

From Hartberg via the pilgrims' path and the Marterlweg back to the Hochstraße and back to Hartberg. Past numerous wayside shrines and wayside crosses with a length of 25 km and an altitude difference of 500 metres.

Along the much-frequented pilgrims' path in the direction of Fieberbründl, from the Hochstraße parallel to the Kaindorfer Marterlweg.  In St. Stefan we now follow the Marterlweg to Kaindorf. There are several opportunities for refreshments here. From Kaindorf we go uphill to Kopfing and via the Hochstrasse back to the Steiner Kreuz. From here we return via trail no. 13 to Hartberg.

  • accessible via the A2 Südautobahn exit Hartberg
  • in Hartberg follow the signs to the pilgrimage church Maria Lebing

Hartberg, pilgrimage church Maria Lebing

  • yellow - white markings with No. 13 to St. Stefan.
  • Cross the B 54 and continue along the Jägersteig up to the Steinfeldkreuz.
  • descend to Schildbach along the Kirchweg, past the Florianisäule and the Buschenschank Siedl
  • after approx. 200 m. Pass the Reisinger Kreuz on the right and follow the path across the fields to the Ringhotel.
  • After the Ringhotel the trail goes downhill to the confluence of the Burgbach and Angerbach streams to the Löffelbach.
  • here we cross the Pöllauer Landesstrasse uphill through the forest and across the fields to Mitterdombach.
  • through Mitterdombach onto the Sandwerkstrasse over the Aupach and up to the left at the cross.
  • At the highest point, turn right and then descend left through the forest into the Dombachtal valley.
  • at the orchard up to Haselberg
  • follow the road on the right to the Steiner Kreuz cross and then follow the Marterlweg path.
  • Cross the road Kaindorf Winzendorf via the Hirt Chapel and the Zettl Cross to St. Stefan.
  • About 500 metres from St. Stefan along path no. 13 is the Reichl or Brunn Chapel.
  • From St. Stefan in the Pöllauer Safental we follow the signs at the Felberfbauer cross, the Riegelhöf chapel and the Seegassl cross via the cemetery to the Kaindorf church.
  • Now we cross the B 54 and follow the direction signs "Materlweg" uphill to Kopfing.
  • in Kopfing, continue along the Hochstraße to the Steiner Kreuz cross and return to Maria Lebing along the yellow and white pilgrims' path.

Women's cave at the Buchberger farm in St. Stefan. (Visits possible on request)
