Moderately difficult circular route to the “1000 Meter Cross” with a magical view of the Rantental. At the start and end point is the “Martin-Zeiller Garden” which invites you to visit.
Discover the community of Ranten from all its perspectives and explore one or two “geimplatzerl”. In terms of landscape, this is an excellent tour where you can explore the town and really enjoy the view.

Coming from Judenburg via Unzmarkt to Scheifling. Turn right here and drive to Murau. At the double roundabout in Murau, keep right and follow the road to Ranten.
Coming from Tamsweg, drive via Stadl an der Mur to Murau. At the double roundabout in Murau, keep left and follow the road to Ranten.
The starting point of this tour is the Ranten municipal office. From here you walk past the Hammerschmied country inn to the beginning of the forest. Here you follow the signposted path through the forest to Neubauerweg. Turn right and walk to the main street. Take the first left and hike along the rear Freiberweg and along the Waldhüttenweg back to the starting point.
There are also one or two places to stop for refreshments in the town of Ranten.
