Torsattel Wildalpen-Gams

Closed
The mountain bike tour between Wildalpen and Gams leads through the wild and romantic area of the Gesäuse. The route runs via the Torsattel along the Gamsbach stream. Mostly on forest roads, through unspoilt mountain forests, over alpine pastures to panoramic viewpoints with views of the Gesäuse and the Hochschwab group.
The route always leads us along forest roads without ever having to turn off, mostly uphill to the Torsattel.  From here, the route goes steadily downhill over beautiful alpine pastures between rugged rocks until, after approx. 18 km, we reach a country road in the Krautgraben. We follow this on asphalt, always out of the valley, along the Gamsbach and the beautiful Nothklamm gorge to Gams.

We start in Fischerau (Wildalpen) and drive along the forest road to the barrier. We can drive around this barrier on the right. The route now always leads us along forest roads without ever having to turn off, mostly uphill past the Muselhütte to the Torsattel. From here, the route goes steadily downhill across beautiful alpine pastures between craggy rocks. When we reach another barrier, we push the bike past it on the left and immediately turn right. After about 18 km we come to a country road in the Krautgraben. In front of us we see a small old sawmill, which we pass and cycle along the Gamsbach until we reach the junction Buchsteinrunde (Trans National Park). We continue straight ahead out of the valley and ride the beautiful Nothklamm gorge to Gams.
