Admonterhaus
A sublime view of Admont - in the Admonterhaus, you almost feel a bit like Her Majesty Emperor Franz-Josef. Especially because it was opened on his 65th birthday. The highest hut in the Gesäuse awaits with genuine, homemade delicacies from spicy to sweet. This will strengthen you before you continue on to the Warte, the Hexenturm or the Natterriegel.
Spectacular mountain worlds! This is what you could call the view from the Admonterhaus. While you drink your Radler, Gesäuse Perle or a sparkling beer for refreshment, you can enjoy one of the most beautiful views of the mountains around Admont. The easiest ascent to the Admonterhaus is from Buchauer Sattel and takes about two and a half hours. But you can also start from Hall or Oberlaussa, but then you are half an hour longer "on the road". One advantage of the Buchauer Sattel is that on the way up there is also the Grabneralm and the show dairy of the Grabnerhof agricultural college a few meters lower down. Both are always worth a stop. So you don't have to do the many meters in altitude all at once.
Info
Admonterhaus
Fun detail around the Admonterhaus: It was opened on the 65th birthday of alpine lover Emperor Franz-Josef. Then as now, no road led to the hut. The stones were quarried nearby and brought by horse and cart to the place where the Alpine Club refuge stands today. Thus, to this day - just like the Heßhütte - it is only supplied by helicopter or on foot. Strategically good, by the way, because you can still hike on to the Admonter Warte, the Hexenturm or Natterriegel. Also the insured trail (only for experienced hikers!) with the sounding name "Jungfernsteig" as a connection to the Blumenberg Grabnerstein is a dream.
