Gsuchmauer

Wonderful ski tour in the Johnsbachtal. Very varied, beautiful ascent over forest roads, sparse forest, steep cirque and slopes, further over a flat ridge to the summit.
First you follow the forest road through the famous and worth seeing Ebner or Devil's Gorge. Behind the gorge, the route leads alternately through the forest and in sections again on forest roads.

At the Pfarralm, we turn left and continue into the steep cirque. Now northwards over a steep step into the cirque between Stadelfeld and Glaneggturm to the Glaneggluke and straight on through the cirque to the flat ridge. Follow this to the highest point.

In the National Park there is only one intersection worth mentioning, namely the one into the Johnsbachtal (coming from Admont after approx. 11 km and coming from Hieflau after approx. 15 km). Behind the gorge, the route leads over the toboggan run , soon we turn left and it goes alternately through the forest and in sections again on forest roads.

Cross the Schafhüttelgraben to the Pfarralm and continue into the steep cirque. Now turn left northwards over a steep step into the cirque between Stadelfeld and Glaneggturm into the Glaneggluke and straight on through the cirque to the flat ridge. Follow this to the highest point.

The very steep (approx. 40°) direct summit descent into the Gsuchkar is only possible in the best conditions!

At the starting points of the NP ski tours there are devices to check the function of your avalanche transceiver!

There are also information boards and flyers at the starting points with the exact route description!
