Zirbitzkogel-Schutzhaus
ObdachThe Zirbitzkogel shelter is the highest shelter in Styria. The guest room and the sun terrace invite you to rest and linger.
Only 20 meters in altitude and a few minutes walk below the summit of the Zirbitzkogel is the Zirbitzkogel shelter of the ÖTK with overnight accommodation in multi-bed dormitories (20 camp beds, possibility to stay only in the summer months). The hut, located at 2376 meters above sea level, is officially called Helmut-Erd-Schutzhaus and is managed by "Zirbitz-Werni". You can fortify yourself after the hike with a hiking breakfast, vegetable soup, frankfurter, Krainer, Steirerkäsebrot, Bretteljause, Speckjause or Strudel.

Opening hours:
- Open in summer from the beginning of June until around the end of September.
- In winter, depending on snow and weather conditions, at weekends and during the winter holiday weeks.
