Circular trail on the sunny side

We hike on the sunny side of Kleinlobming in the Murtal region and get to know the village and its surroundings in a cosy way - including a special Jausn-Platzl!
Tour corresponds to trail no. 48b on signposts on site and in the regional hiking map

The village of Kleinlobming offers numerous hiking opportunities, traditional inns, cosy snack bars and a small grocery shop. Starting from the village centre, you can not only explore several local recreational trails, but also hike up the Steinplan - the local mountain of the Murtal region - which offers great views. The Sonnseiten circular trail is a perfect combination of varied paths with gentle ups and downs, beautiful rest areas and sections with great views. The trail was newly marked and signposted in summer 2020 and can also be shortened if required. However, the whole loop is recommended, as towards the end you come to a "hidden" snack spot with a view of the Lobmingtal valley. Before and after the hike, cosy inns invite you to eat and drink. During the summer, please note that you may come across grazing animals around the unmanaged Ebnerhütte.

From the centre of Kleinlobming (1), 759 m, we head towards the church. The road passes below the church and leads gently uphill until, after a few metres, we have a beautiful view of the valley. Immediately after a bend to the right, we leave the paved road, turn left and walk across a short stretch of meadow and along well-marked hiking trails to the junction for the Hauser snack station (2), 880 metres. It is approx. 10 minutes downhill to the snack station. The Sonnseiten circular hiking trail continues straight ahead to the Ebnerhütte (3), 885 metres. Please note that you enter a pasture just before the Ebnerhütte, but this ends just after the building. If the fence is to be opened, make sure that everything is properly closed again. In spring and autumn, when there are no grazing cattle, the Ebnerhütte makes a wonderful resting place. The route now continues steadily uphill until we leave the road at a left-hand bend to follow the hiking trail to the right. Here we have reached the highest point of the hike. Along the edge of the forest and further downhill through the forest, a short stretch a little steeper, we reach a tarmac road or a crossroads. Now turn left and follow the tarmac road uphill, which leads through the farm vlg. Kahlbauer farm (4), 915 m, and then continues along a paved gravel road. Now we hike along at a leisurely pace until the signpost to the right can be seen after a right-hand bend. The forest track eventually leads into a hiking trail that leads to a wooden footbridge and a fountain. Then follow the forest road slightly downhill and you will soon see the signpost to Jausen-Platzl (5), 835 metres. A cosy place to enjoy the view of the valley. After the break, we follow the forest road downhill until we reach the tarmac road in the valley. Here we turn right and follow the road into the centre of Kleinlobming.
