Panoramic tour Großlobming
The municipality Lobmingtal has about 1800 inhabitants and exists in this form since the merging of Kleinlobming and Großlobming in 2015 and bears the common municipality name Lobmingtal as of 1.1.2016. With the panoramic loop you get to know the village of Großlobming, which is located about 5 km southwest of the city of Knittelfeld, very well. The hike starts in the center of the village and leads through the Sulzbachgraben, where the first knights "von Lobming" lived in the middle of the 12th century. During the hike along the Sulzbachgraben, you will come to a memorial site that commemorates the tragic accident in 1972, when 3 people died in a helicopter crash. Starting from the Sulzbachgraben, you hike across beautiful, well-kept pastures and come to the highest point of the hike, the "Murtalblick-Bankerl". From here you have a wonderful view of Großlobming and the Judenburg-Knittelfeld basin. The view invites you to linger, as it stretches from the Wölzer Tauern to the Seckauer Alps.

More information
From Judenburg via provincial roads to Großlobming (14 km, approx. 20 minutes).
We start in the center or at the parking lot of the Raiffeisenbank in Großlobming (1), 641 m, and follow the yellow signposts with the inscription "Panoramarunde Großlobming". It goes through the center of the village and then left into the Sulzbachgraben, which we follow for about 2 km to the Gedenkmarterl (2), 736 m, the helicopter crash site. Now we go left and see the forest road on the right, which is marked as a cycling and hiking trail. We follow the road, which goes uphill in serpentines through the forest and clearings. When we reach the crossroads with a pasture grate, we branch off to the left and hike along almost level for about 1 km until we reach the Murtalblick-Bankerl (3), 860m. The view of the Judenburg-Knittelfeld basin and the surrounding mountain regions of the Wölzer and Seckauer Tauern is magnificent. From the bench we walk back again a few meters, then turn left on the well-marked path, on gravel or asphalt roads, downhill. Almost arrived in the valley we see at a junction (4), 660 m, on the left side the yellow directional arrow. We branch off to the left and hike along the edge of the forest until we reach the populated area of Großlobming. We keep to the right and after a short time we come back to our starting point.
