Aladdin, a poor boy, is commissioned by the wizard Jafar to retrieve a magic lamp. He keeps it and discovers a wish-granting genie inside. In love with Princess Jasmine, he uses the lamp for wealth and splendor. When Jafar steals the lamp, Aladdin realizes that true love is not based on appearances.
