Summit tour: From Mönichwald to the Hochwechsel mountain, Waldbach-Mönichwald

From the lake to the mountain - is the motto of the tour from the flower village Mönichwald to the local mountain, the 1743 meter high Hochwechsel.
The flower village of Mönichwald not only invites you to swim and enjoy in the summertime. The Hochwechsel also offers numerous opportunities for hiking tours. On this tour, the summit is climbed by bike - with the e-bike you also have the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful landscape during the ride.

Waldbach-Mönichwald has been a municipality in the Hartberg-Fürstenfeld district of Styria in Austria since 2015.
 
By car:
From Graz: via the A2 to the Hartberg exit, then B50 and B54 via Grafendorch to Rohrbach; continue via Koglerau and Bruck to Mönichwald
 
From Vienna: via the A2 to the Pinggau exit, then on the B54 towards Hartberg to Rohrbach a. d. Lafnitz; continue via Koglerau and Bruck to Mönichwald

  • We start in the center of Mönichwald at the Seegasthof Breineder.
  • At the crossroads we turn off immediately in the direction of the Hochwechsellifts
  • We follow the municipal road to the farm "Seppl im Hof".
  • Soon we arrive at the guesthouse Shwengerer
  • Here we turn left to the Alpengasthof Spitzbauer
  • We continue in the direction of Mönichwalder Schwaig
  • After the Kaltwiesenhütte we soon reach a gravel road
  • On this road we drive another 3 km until we reach the Hochwechsel
Refreshment stop at the Kaltwiesenhütte
