Gerlerkogel, von der Teichalm

Open
If you've never been to the Teichalm in the Almenland Nature Park in Styria, it's best to choose this round to get started - with the lake, raised moor and the Gerlerkogel as a viewing point.

The tour starts on the Breitalm and first leads down to Teichalmsee. From there it goes gently up to the right towards Gerlerkogel, but the path actually leads around the Gerlerkogel. If you want, you can of course take the short path up to the summit and then have a beautiful panoramic view. The new Gerlerkogelhütte is right on the path and is perfect for a rest with its view. The rest of the path now leads past the Gerlerkreuz back down to the Teichalm.

Right next to the Latschenhütte there is access to the wildly romantic Teichalmmoor, which can be hiked through. The path ends at the lake at the Holzochsen, which represents the Almenland beef region. Pedal boats are waiting at the lake for a short tour and there are also several restaurants where you can stop off. The rest of the path now leads past the Holzochsen up to the Hotel Pierer and back to the Breitalm, at the foot of the Heulantsch.

ATTENTION: The Teichalmmoor is closed in winter, the opening of the path is planned for May 1st, 2021!
