In pedales veritas ...

At the beginning of the tour you will take away some impressions about the former Roman life in the 2-spa region Bad Waltersdorf - for example when visiting the small Roman stone museum in the center of Bad Waltersdorf. Just 200 m along Hohenbruggerstraße - then turn left along Hintergasse past the so-called Froschhaus. Then continue towards the 18-hole golf course and the Spa Resort Styria (formerly Falkensteiner). It gets quieter and the path makes the Lucullus cyclists sweat a little: if you consider the slight climb to the golf course a challenge, the "Pedal Roman" refreshes himself on the spot at the golf restaurant.

This is what life tastes like

The cyclist takes the subsequent climb in stride, enjoying the cooling shade in the forest before the "hanging" orchards present themselves on the plain of the Leitersdorfberg. Shortly thereafter comes the Hotel-Restaurant Teuschler-Mogg, where you will be spoiled with regional cuisine and Styrian hospitality by the boss herself. Now the path leads to the next down-to-earth highlight - a magnificent view of the 2-spa region Bad Waltersdorf awaits the "Pedal-Römer" from the Leitersdorfberg - in particular from the Bergstadl. For wine lovers a MUST to the stop. Traditional food and excellent wines from our own production (Weinhof Pichler) are offered.

Then it's downhill in the direction of Leitersdorf and the village inn Seiler-Ziegler. If you want to be pampered a little, you are in good hands with Petra Seiler-Ziegler.

Now continue to the old Leitersdorf train station, via Mühlweg past the campsite and over a short climb straight to the next culinary delight, the Weinhof Thaler. Excellent wines and an ambience of a special kind invite you to stop for a bite to eat. After that, the path continues to the source of tranquility - the spa Bad Waltersdorf. "Lucullus feels at home!". He knows the feeling of the pleasantly warm healing water. Before the Heiltherme, the cyclist still passes magnificent orchards. At the spa, the tour joins the so-called Thermenstraße and leads up to the Wagerberg.

Lucullus Hotel Tip: After the climb in the direction of the Wagerberg, the only 5-star hotel in Styria, "Der Steirerhof", is located on the left in a prime location. Only shortly after - approx. 100 m it goes right in to the Lucullus view tip: a short detour is worthwhile, because with the property of the family Pichler one has a marvelous view of the 2-Thermenregion Bad Waltersdorf. After a short rest, return to the Thermenstraße and after about 200 m turn left - along the Dorfstraße to the Sonntagsberg. Only a short way downhill to the beech vis-á-vis of the bio village in to the BB1 Heurigen.

Then comes the last section of the route - back to the beech tree and right downhill into the village center, past the train station, into the avenue of the same name, directly to the parish church. Lucullan delights also await there. "Pleasure cycling at its best," says Lucullus.

The culmination of pleasure: Feel good & relax in the thermal water of the spa Bad Waltersdorf.
