Auf die Kälberalm - Himmlisches Platzerl 4

The young calves are grazing delightfully on the lush mountain pastures. Just as tasty are the snacks at the mountain hut. The soft chiming of the cow bells makes you feel like you‘re in another world. Up on the mountains you are just that little bit closer to heaven...
At 1,442 meters above sea level lies the Kälberalm, where alpine herdsmen and dairymen once produced cheese, butter, and quark. Today, it serves as the summer grazing land for the young cows of the Braun farm. The breathtaking panoramic view makes it easy to lose track of time and become immersed in thought. For those who desire more mountain adventures, a 2-hour hike leads up to Geierkogel, starting from Bauernhof Braun in Triebental (Trail No. 948). Additionally, Kälberalm is accessible directly from the town in 1.5 hours by first heading towards Hasensattel.
