Family hike from Tauplitz to the Gnanitzalm

Closed
Easy, stroller-friendly hike through a beautiful valley to the Gnanitzalm.
Starting point is the center of Tauplitz. Follow the asphalt road to the Greith district. Always stay on this road and you will come directly to the Gnanitzalm.

If you want, you can also take the forest path past the Tauplitz waterfall. However, this path is not suitable for strollers.

You start at the church. Follow the path in an easterly direction and cross the bypass road. Then follow the gravel path and the markings to the waterfall.

Once you reach the Gnanitzstraße, turn right.

More information

It is best to plan your journey with google.at/maps
You start at the village square in Tauplitz. From there follow the narrow asphalt road to the east until you reach the bypass road. Cross the road and walk straight ahead past the Tauplitz swimming pool.

After about two kilometers you will pass a small chapel. Perhaps this is just the right time to take a short break. The trail continues past the turnoff to the Tauplitz waterfall and the Sagtümpel pond in the direction of Gnanitz.

After another two kilometers you come to a barrier and a parking lot. Up to there it would also be possible to drive by car. Shortly after the barrier you will find the Gretlhütte. The hut is open during the summer months and invites you to have a snack.

Freshly strengthened you continue on the fort road along the Grimmingbach. After about 50 minutes on foot you reach the Gnanitzalm. There you will find two more managed huts. The hut keepers are happy to spoil their guests with culinary delights.

Return to the starting point along the same route.

Directly in the center of Tauplitz is the parish church. This is always worth a visit.

From the train station Tauplitz you can reach the village center in about 20 minutes on foot. A bus stop is located directly at the village square in Tauplitz.

Free parking is available at the entrance to Tauplitz.
