HWW-Hiking route: Dechantskirchen - Stögersbach (circular trail)
This HWW hiking route is part of the Wechselland Historical Long-Distance Hiking Trail (HWW), which tells the story of Wechselland along more than 100 HWW stations. More information can be found at www.wechsel-wandern.at.
This HWW hiking route leads from the center of Dechantskirchen to Stögersbach, the Schachner Forest and back to Dechantskirchen. Along the HWW route, you pass the Stögersbach/Hammerstock HWW station, where you learn that there was once a mine.

Directions - By car
- via the Südautobahn (A2) to the Pinggau exit
- at the traffic circle take the 3rd exit
- along the B54 in the direction of Graz/Hartberg
- turn left onto Dechantskirchen
The tour is not signposted throughout. Route guidance with app recommended.
- The route starts in the center of Dechantskirchen.
- Continue in the direction of Stögersbach through the Schachner Forest.
- Back to Dechantskirchen.
We recommend visiting Thalberg Castle from the outside, where you will also find an HWW information board next to the entrance area.
