Wine & Mill Trail (Wein- & Mühlenweg)

The hike starts at St. Peter's Square and leads to the recreational facility. At the beginning, the hiking trail runs together with the Fred Strohmaier Weg to the south. At the Ottersbach bridge the two separate - the wine & mill hike leads to the right on an idyllic path past meadows and fields along the Ottersbach. After a short hike you will reach the Ottersbachmühle. The 400-year-old mill in Wittmannsdorf is a listed building and offers its visitors a great mill experience. The hike leads to the Unterrosenberg to the Berglermühle. The Berglermühle is an old water mill and was built about 100 years ago by the grandfather of the current mill owner and some neighbors to grind their own flour. Today the mill is still grinding flour by the miller Luis.

From the mill to the wine, you walk along the meadows past vineyards and the first Demeter winery in southeast Styria. Some vintners are still waiting for you along the hike and invite you to taste their precious treasures.

Along the ridge walk past the rose garden, the clay pigeon shooting range and then turn right into the forest. Passing a Christmas tree nursery, you will reach the starting point at St. Peter's Square.
