THE EASTERN STYRIA WINTER NEEDLE

Eastern Styria impresses with its small but beautiful ski resorts with affordable skiing, easily accessible pistes, short and stress-free approaches. There is also plenty to experience and relax away from the slopes. Excellent cross-country ski trails, winter and snowshoe hikes, toboggan runs, winter wellness and much more await you.

There is a small gift for those who achieve the Winter Needle, which can be collected from the Almenland Nature Park or Joglland-Waldheimat offices.

FAMILY SKI DAY

The swinging start of the season for the whole family starts with the FamilienSkiTag in the garden of Austria! On Sunday, December 15, 2024, the lifts and trails in Eastern Styria invite you to have fun on the slopes.

Children ski for free on this day! In addition, the lifts have come up with an exciting program in the Joglland-Waldheimat region and the Almenland Nature Park.

Eastern Styria offers small, fine ski paradises with varied pistes, from gentle to sporty, all the way to early-practice pistes with baby and practice lifts. In the regions of Joglland-Waldheimat and Naturpark Almenland there are 13 of these ski areas with perfectly groomed slopes.

Cross-country skiing in the garden of Austria is so much fun. Classic cross-country skiers and skaters find perfect cross-country skiing conditions in Eastern Styria. HIKING WONDERLAND

The gentler landscapes in the Almenland Nature Park and in the Waldheimat-Joglland region, in the Weizer and Hartberger Bergland, Pöllauer Tal Nature Park and Apfel-Land-Stubenbergsee merge with the East Styrian hill country and invite you to go winter hiking in refreshing nature.

At a leisurely pace, but on a big foot, you are on the move when snowshoeing. Once upon a time, snowshoes were the tools of the trade for forest workers to get around in deep snow-covered forests. Today, nature lovers appreciate them to immerse themselves in romantic winter landscapes. On guided tours with Martina & Heimo at the Sommeralm, the all-round experience can be topped.
