Gesaeuse federal road B 146 junction Johnsbach, after 5 km GH Donnerwirt
from GH Donner in Johnsbach we walk a comfortable path, passing a small power station along the stream, steadily uphill through the forest. A few benches invite you to enjoy the wonderful view with deep benches over the Johnsbach valley. Finally, after about 1 1/2 hours of hiking, we reach a forest road, which leads us the last meters of altitude to the Mödlinger Hütte. The hut is well managed and depending on the time of day we stop for breakfast with a blueberry strudel or for lunch with a selection of dumplings, gnocchi or even meat dishes. Also a snack with bacon and Kas is not to be despised. Again and again there are also speciality weeks such as a dumpling week or "Styrian home cooking".
from the Mödlingerhütte still in about 1 hour via the romantic Treffner See to the Heldenkreuz
