Udo Jürgens would have celebrated his 90th birthday on September 30, 2024. Unfortunately, 2024 also marks the 10th anniversary of this Austrian music legend's death (December 21).
He composed over 1000 songs, even for Frank Sinatra, among others. He wrote melodies for eternity and filled them with lyrical and poetic lyrics, meaningful stories and truthful statements. The globally acclaimed pianist and singer inspired and touched souls of all ages with his expressive voice.
The Styrian singer Nina Bernsteiner, who has been thrilling opera audiences around the world for decades, is also at home in jazz, musicals, rock and pop.
When she won a Udo Jürgens singing competition on the radio in her native Styria as a teenager, she came to the attention of ORF and was engaged for several musical projects and studio recordings. She met Udo Jürgens on stage and backstage at a concert in Graz and was captivated by his music from that moment on. In her concert program "In allen Dingen lebt ein Lied" in honour of the exceptional artist, the singer, together with pianist István Bonyhadi, violinist Miao Yu Hung and percussionist Thomas Ritter, dedicates herself to Udo Jürgens' less well-known song repertoire. But don't worry, of course the audience will also get to hear Udo's great hits on this evening, with which he once thrilled crowds and which made him he immortal.
