ApfelLand-Stubenbergsee is a gentle hilly country where a hiker can find comfortable tours. The valleys are at about 400 meters, the highest elevations are the Kulm with 976 meters and the Rabenwald with its 1,280 meters.
Many well-marked hiking trails cross the apple orchards. The castles of Schielleiten, Herberstein and Neuhaus are on the route. The south of the ApfelLand is also a wine-growing area, where in the afternoons the Buschenschenken serve home-made wine and cold dishes, the "Jause".
The apple route connects the fruit farms, cider taverns and catering establishments. There you can taste and buy fresh fruit, juices, schnapps and cider. In spring, the whole country blossoms from mid-April to mid-May, and a white and pink cloud of foam and a sweet fragrance entices visitors to hike among the apple orchards. In summer, Lake Stubenberg with its warm water is a paradise for swimmers, sand players and skaters. An electric boat pulls circles with up to 60 guests. And the pirate ship and the diving rock are popular children's fun zones.
