Mountain and Valley Vespa Tour
Explore Eastern Styrian highlights in half a day on a Vespa! Styria is too beautiful to stay short. But if you want to see and experience a lot in a short time, take this tour on a Vespa! From the Raab Valley, the tour takes us to the
Almenland Nature Park, on to the nature reserve around the Feistritz River, back to the
Styrian Apple Road and the
Eastern Styrian Roman Wine Road to a Buschenschank. Pack your
GenussCard and off you go on a discovery tour.
On this circular tour, starting from St. Ruprecht an der Raab, you will literally experience why Eastern Styria is also affectionately called the Garden of Austria. Tips for stops for refreshments and sightseeing are strung together - whether it is the Almenland beekeeping, pedal boating at Lake Teichalm, the summer toboggan run in Koglhof, a snack in the Rauchstubenhaus, a visit to a fruit farmer on the apple road, a stroll through the town of Weiz or simply a visit to a Buschenschank.

Route planner
- The Vespa tour starts in the centre of St. Ruprecht an der Raab. Already at your starting point we can visit a few things: the Peace Grotto is a spiritual place of strength that invites you to draw strength. At the love fountain, lovers can hang up their locks and thus testify to their eternal love. Or you can walk to the Stefanie spring, whose water, according to legend, has a healing effect on eye complaints.
- We now drive through the Weizklamm gorge - a special experience to drive along the high rock walls. Tip: warm clothes! It is very fresh in the gorge!
- Now our Vespa tour starts: we drive north to Weiz and cross the historic old town. The town offers many opportunities for strolling and shopping.
- We already notice that the gradient of the terrain is slowly increasing, as we will soon reach the Almenland Nature Park, the largest contiguous alpine pasture area in Europe.
- Before that, however, we can take a break in Passail and visit Mr Kreiner's Almenland beekeeping. The friendly beekeeper tells us everything we need to know about the bees and the refinement of the honey.
- Now we continue to Fladnitz an der Teichalm until we reach Lake Teichalm. Here we can take a leisurely stroll around the lake or go for a ride on the pedal boat (free with the GenussCard). Around the lake, many inns and huts (tip: Latschenhütte) invite you to stop for a bite to eat.
- After this idyllic stopover, we continue on to the Brandluckn and then to Naintsch. In Koglhof, things get fun and interesting: whizz down the summer toboggan run (free with the GenussCard) and also visit the Oswald/Schaffer vinegar factory in Koglhof. In this family-run factory, quality comes first - you can taste it in the award-winning vinegars.
- After this short stop, we start the Vespa again and drive to the nearby town of Anger (tip: beautiful traditional costumes are available at the Seidl in Anger). Also in Anger, but a little outside, is a natural idyll: the Rauchstubenhaus shows life in the old days. With the Genusscard you get a free guided tour.
- A stop at Peter Allmer's cosy hut promises Styrian delicacies. On a clear day, you can even see as far as Riegersburg Castle and enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of eastern Styria.
- Now it's back down from the mountain into the valley. We drive to Oberfeistritz, then to Unterfeistritz and up to Puch near Weiz. Puch is the centre of the Styrian Apple Road - a paradisiacal stretch of land that resembles a huge white carpet in spring during the blossoming season.
- The Styrian Apple Road is a must on our Styria trip! With the GenussCard you can visit the Wilhelm fruit farm (in Lingstätten) and taste high-proof spirits or learn interesting facts about apples at the Haus des Apfels.
- Our onward journey now takes us to Etzersdorf. In spring, you must visit the Snowdrop Square here - a special feature of nature.
- Now we drive via Büchl to the district capital of Weiz and on to Breitegg. In Breitegg there is a beautiful, small baroque church that is well worth a visit.
- We can stop in Breitegg at the Gansrieglhof wine tavern. A hearty Styrian snack with homemade bread, smoked meat and fresh spreads, as well as home-made wines will make your heart beat faster!
- Downhill your way leads to St. Ruprecht, where we reach the Hotel Locker & Légere again. A beautiful day over mountain and valley now comes to an end.
- Overnight stay at Hotel Locker & Légere**** directly in the centre of St. Ruprecht an der Raab!
- Over 120 excursion destinations, enjoyment stations and experiences with the GenussCard FREE OF CHARGE.
