A circular hiking trail in the Rabenwald area
This tour starts at the Gschaidsattel and leads through forest paths to Rabendorf to beautiful panoramic views and back to the Gschaidsattel

By car:
From Vienna: via the A2 to the Gleisdorf-West exit, follow the B64 to the Weiz/Birkfeld exit, follow the road towards Birkfeld; in Birkfeld follow the signs to Gschaidsattel
From Graz: take the A2 to the Gleisdorf-West exit, follow the B64 to the exit towards Weiz/Birkfeld, follow the road towards Birkfeld; in Birkfeld follow the signs to Gschaidsattel
- We start our tour at the Gschaidsattel and follow the red and white markings in the direction of Rabenwald, walk along the road for a short distance and leave the road at the small model airfield and turn left along the meadow path towards the forest
- We follow this marked forest path uphill, then come to a clearing and here you have a view of the wind turbines on the Masenberg
- We continue through the forest, keeping right at a fork in the path
- We then come to a forest path and keep right
- After a short stretch, we keep right again and follow the marked path
- We soon come to another fork in the path and keep right again
- Then we come to a forest road and in the bend we continue straight ahead along the hiking trail and come to the Kalten Brunn, where we can drink some fresh water
- We also come to the three crosses and continue right towards Rabendorf and then cross another forest road
- Before a forest clearing, we descend to the right, after a short time we are above Rabendorf and enjoy a beautiful panoramic view over Birkfeld
- When we arrive in Rabendorf, we can stop for refreshments at Gasthaus Reithofer (closed on Mondays and Tuesdays)
- Well fortified, we walk a short distance along the road to the wayside shrine, where we leave the road and continue along a meadow path into the forest
- Go straight ahead along the path, at a fork in the road we keep left downhill and come to a forest path which we follow uphill
- Before the Schwenghof farm, you have a view of the Birkfeld church
- We walk through the farmstead and follow this road uphill
- We come to a crossroads where we keep left, this road leads us straight ahead to our starting point at the Gschaidsattel
