Leierweg

A BARRIER-FREE WAY FOR EVERYONE. Theme trail Leierweg from the willow cathedral to this beautiful spot from where you can watch the famous eddy water of the Enns, the "Leier". By the way, this is also possible with so-called Swiss Tracs, which pull you up there.
The path is easy. And not without reason: the National Park staff want everyone to have a piece of the Gesäuse National Park. And for those who cannot climb to the top of the Planspitze because their own mobility is restricted, the valley offers some great options for seeing nature and culture. For example, by borrowing a wheelchair together with a good Swiss Trac. This is like being pulled up by a lot of (electronic) huskies. Sounds cool. It is cool!

More information

Gesäusebundesstraße B 146 from direction Admont or Hieflau until junction Johnsbach
It is always a good idea to start at the willow dome during a visit to the Gesäuse National Park. Because here you will find all the important information you need and, above all, this reloading point is also the starting point for a whole host of theme trails which run through the valley in all directions. They are the perfect thing for beginners and those who perhaps just want to get a taste of the National Park. The Lyre Trail is one of them and winds its way for four kilometres to a lookout point with bankerl, from where you can watch the eddy waters of the Enns. Along the way there are information boards which have been specially installed for wheelchair users. Barrier-free information so to speak. Partly it consists of wooden footbridges, partly of asphalt or gravel. You are rewarded with a view of the friendly Ennstal and the green Enns.
The national park offers guided programmes at the willow dome: Microscopy of a water drop, determination of the creatures using boards, finally the water drop is projected onto a screen and tiny water fleas and mayfly larvae become monsters moving on the screen.
