Florianiway, Waldbach-Mönichwald

The Florianiweg is a beautiful hiking trail in the region Joglland - Waldheimat of about 8 km, which leads through the market Vorau and the district Riegersberg to Waldbach.
This forest hike takes you to the community of Waldbach, where the water games await you as a highlight. On the way there, you can make a detour to the game preserve or visit the Hubertus Chapel. On clear days, you have a wonderful view of the Wechsel region and as far as Hungary.

More information

Vorau is located in the East Styrian hill country at an altitude of between 470 and 1248 meters.

By car:
From Vienna: A2 exit Pinggau - Rohrbach-Vorau

From Graz: A2 exit Pinkafeld or Hartberg - Rohrbach - Vorau

Detailed information on how to get here can be found here.
  • We start at the town hall in Vorau
  • We walk past the town hall arch and two parks in the direction of Riegersberg
  • We follow the road to the Brennerwirt
  • On a goods road we continue to Forster
  • Then we follow the signposted Florianiweg until we reach Waldbach-Mönichwald
Vorau is always worth a visit: The only still active Augustinian canons' monastery, the open-air museum or the underground passages Sub Terra Vorau attract numerous visitors. But you can also discover a lot during a walk through the village center.
Timetables and travel information can be found at Österreichische Bundesbahnen (ÖBB) or at Verkehrsauskunft Verbundlinie. For local transportation we recommend the SAM-Sammeltaxi Oststeiermark.
