As the starting point of this stage of the hiking route "From Glacier to Wine" we choose the Graz Gate, where the Municipality is also located. We branch off onto Augustinerplatz and then turn into Theatergasse, which takes us to Hauptplatz. We cross the square and on the other side we reach Mittergasse, which we follow out of town and then we cross the main street to reach a traffic circle. There we keep straight on in order to reach Bahnhofstraße via Parkstraße. We walk along this street and immediately after the station we turn left into Jahnstraße, which finally leads us into the Stadtwald.
We walk through the Stadtwald with its beautiful tree population for about 1 km and then turn right to reach Bad Loipersdorf via the small village of Dietersdorf. In the village we keep to the left in front of the municipal office in order to reach the low-traffic Schulstraße. Before we get to the sewage treatment plant, the path bends to the right, which we follow to get back to Thermenstraße. Note: on days when the Thermenstraße is less frequented, it is also possible to follow the Thermenstraße past the municipal office.
After about 600 meters, past Charly´s Inn, we turn right into the Rehgraben. Here the path leads us now partly through shady woods slightly uphill in a loop towards the thermal spa. At the Loipenhof we return to the Thermenstraße, turn sharp right and hike along the road for a short distance before we continue on a section of the beautifully laid "Wein-Erlebnis-Weg" directly to the Therme. Note: Between Charly´s Inn and the Loipenhof you can also stay on the footpath and cycle path to shorten the route somewhat, but especially on hot days the Rehgraben offers itself as a "cooling off" away from the traffic.
A few meters after the thermal baths, we now turn right and embark on a section of the "Spiritual Path", which leads from Kirchberg to Unterlamm or the thermal baths of Loipersdorf, but in the opposite direction from west to east. We, however, hike from east to west and so the path, which is marked with the signs "Handspur", takes us off the road through beautiful pieces of forest, small settlements and farmsteads with their surrounding fields to the vineyards and orchards northeast of Unterlamm, our stage stop. A tip for the next day: get up early and get going, because the next stage takes us to Riegersburg with its imposing castle, which must be visited.
