The healing power of singing in nature

Mariahof

About the offer

"Ritual is the core area of human transformation." (Erich Neumann)

Ritual is the oldest therapeutic method for initiating and supporting psychological transformation and healing processes. In nature therapy, we draw on this tradition and place it in the context of modern psychology and psychotherapy in order to make it usable for the people of our time.

In our 'Nature and Ritual' training cycle, we combine the two worlds by linking traditional ritual forms with modern theories of development and transformation (Part 1) and mental recovery and healing (Part 2).

This course is a compulsory course for training to become a certified nature therapist, but can also be attended as an individual course.

Important information

Ritual is the oldest therapeutic method for initiating and supporting psychological transformation and healing processes. In nature therapy, we draw on this tradition and place it in the context of modern psychology and psychotherapy in order to make it usable for the people of our time.

In our 'Nature and Ritual' training cycle, we combine the two worlds by linking traditional ritual forms with modern theories of development and transformation (Part 1) and mental recovery and healing (Part 2). This takes nothing away from the magic and flair of the ritual experience. After all, the ritual-symbolic experience and actions of people can never be fully explained; some things remain mysterious when people open up and venture into new, unknown inner spaces.

A rite is a clearly structured frame of reference for meaningful symbolic experience and action/creation and is often 'charged' with archetypal power. This is why this instrument needs to be used responsibly. Such a sense of responsibility manifests itself both in a qualified professionalism and in the personal maturity of the ritual leaders.
The focus of the two training courses in nature therapy ritual work is on the practical practice of ritual processes and the therapeutic methods used. In the theoretical units, we clarify the psychological and therapeutic frame of reference in which our ritual work is embedded, especially the underlying approaches to development and healing. It is always crucial for personally oriented nature therapy that the ritual work also takes place in the context of a personal and dialogical therapeutic relationship. In this part of the course, we deal with rites of passage both theoretically and practically.

We practise the rites of separation and reintegration (incorporation) in the context of a threshold rite. The ritual 'council' as the central rite of incorporation is of particular therapeutic importance. For this we need the ability to work therapeutically with the narrated experiences, in particular the ability to mirror empathic resonance. Rites of passage support people in transition processes, they serve the development and maturation of the self and thus also the unfolding of our human potential.

The theoretical units in this course include introductions
-Robert Kegan's developmental theory and developmental therapy ('Developmental stages of the self')
-The basics of symbol work in the sense of C. G. Jung.
-into the basic archetypal structure of the rite of passage
methods and interventions of transition ritual process control and the significance of the ritual group as a therapeutic community in the sense of a development-promoting, integrating transition culture.

The course is part of the training to become a nature therapist. If places are still available, it is also open to practicing therapists and educators who wish to integrate this instrument into their work.
