Closed
The Tauplitzalm is known for its 360-degree panorama of hundreds of mountain peaks all around. The very best panoramic view is from the Lawinenstein, which rises like a balcony above the Ausseerland Salzkammergut region and marks its center.
On this tour you can expect 360-degree panoramic views of many mountain peaks all around. You get this incomparable view for relatively little effort: Apart from a slope with 200 meters of altitude, you hike the Lawinenstein with relatively little effort.

More information

The journey to Tauplitz is best planned with google.at/maps. From there you can take the 4-seater chairlift to the high plateau.

By car, you can get to the Tauplitzalm from Bad Mitterndorf via the Tauplitzalm Alpine Road (toll).

The hike is started at the parking lot on the Tauplitzalm or at the mountain station of the 4-seater chairlift. We head off in a westerly direction. Below the Hollhaus is the valley station of the chairlift to the Lawinenstein. From there, trail no. 274 leads gently upwards along a light mountain pine and larch forest.

Below the chairlift you hike up a slope to the top station of the chairlift. Here you are already at 1,885 meters above sea level. Continue over a wide ridge, first slightly descending, and then half-left again rising to the highest point of the Lawinenstein.

The 1,965 meter high summit is a flat plateau that rises like a balcony above the Ausseerland Salzkammergut.

Falling down is no danger there, you can look relaxed. And you should, because you don't have such a great nature cinema every day. The mighty Grimming, the glaciated Dachstein massif, the rugged stone walls of the Tote Gebirge, the Niedere Tauern, the Grundlsee and the most beautiful lake plateau of the Tauplitzalm.

What we observe most often at the Avalanche Stone? Open mouths, incredulous amazement, taking photos and smiling. A day on the Tauplitzalm is as effective as a long weekend!

From the train station Tauplitz it is about 20 minutes walk to the valley station of the 4-seater chairlift.Directly at the valley station is the bus stop.

There are plenty of free parking spaces available in Tauplitz and on the Tauplitzalm.
