The so-called “Mühlviertler Hasenjagt & Anna Hackl” is presented in short theater scenes and lots of music
The so-called “Mühlviertel Hare Hunt”, in which five hundred escaped inmates from the Mauthausen concentration camp were pursued and mostly murdered by residents of the region in February 1945, is remembered not least because of a contemporary witness who still recounts it today:
Anna Hackl.
Anna Hackl was 14 years old when her family hid two prisoners who had escaped from the Mauthausen concentration camp for three months from the clutches of the Nazis as part of the “Mühlviertel Hare Hunt”. The Langthaler family from Schwertberg saved the lives of the two fugitives - at great risk to themselves.
The trio led by actress Sybille v. Both tells this moving story in short theatrical scenes from texts, some of which have been faithfully recorded by Anna Hackl, with lots of music.
