Augustin - Fine specialties with a long tradition. Delicious tasting products from pork with special animal welfare, poultry products and depending on the season also fish enchant the customers of family Augustin.
More than 55 years ago, Rupert & Maria Augustin started direct marketing with baked & fried chicken, which were sold from the farm or at Kaiser-Josefs-Platz in Graz. One generation later (Alois and Anna Augustin) the processing of pork was added. In 1996, investments were made in processing and the company was converted into an EU slaughterhouse.
Already at that time, special attention was paid to stress-free slaughtering, which has a great effect on the quality of the meat. Due to the great demand, the range of products became bigger and bigger, while the traditional products, even today, are always processed in the same way. The smoked meat has therefore been produced for over 50 years according to old family recipes. In 2014, Helmut and Daniela Augustin opened a farm store in Halbenrain, where you can buy not only meat products, but also products from the regional farmer. The welfare of the pigs was also very important to the family and therefore they built a so-called animal welfare barn in 2018. Every customer can see for himself the "satisfied grunt" of the pigs.
Now the direct marketing business is also focusing on ready-made dishes. Son Philipp, as a trained chef, still wants to stay a little in the gastronomy, but is now already focusing on the production of preserved soups and dishes. Thus, the handover to the 4th generation would also already be secured.
