Hops and malt have a long tradition in the Gesäuse. The Benedictines brewed their first barley juice here as early as 1170 and since 1471 the people of Admont have enjoyed their beer in the tavern "zum Buchbinder".
In the house near the monastery, beer sommelier Christoph Herrak continues to cultivate and nurture this tradition in the pub now known as the "Centrum".
There are at least 20 types of beer to choose from on the well-chilled shelves, and the range is constantly renewed and supplemented with numerous whisky specialities. And for real beer connoisseurs, there are special culinary/musical tastings in the in-house Hopfen & Malz cellar. Young and old alike also enjoy the cosy atmosphere and like to end the day in the "Centrum".
