On the south side of the Gamstein at 1,020m is the mountain farmer's alpine hut "Lackneralmhütte der Naturfreunde", which is open at weekends during the summer season.
From the car park GH Stiegenwirt or from the post office Palfau follow the municipal road to the north (N 300), then turn right on the marked trail 284(63) to the saddle near the Mühlbauerkogel and continue on the marked forest trail 284(64) to the fork in the forest trail on the Moar-(nieder)alm. After W on the forest path 65, which runs along the 1,000m-high line and which, due to the steepness of the terrain, is laid out like a panoramic path with wonderful viewpoints, connects the Moar-(nieder)alm with the Naturefriends Hut of the TVN Palfau.

From Salzburg/Linz: West highway A1 to Enns; federal road 115 via Steyr, Großraming, Altenmarkt to Großreifling; state road L714 to Palfau.
From Graz/Klagenfurt: Motorway A9 to Traboch; federal road 115 via Trofaiach, Vordernberg, Präbichl, Eisenerz, Hieflau to Landl; federal road B25 via Mooslandl, Gams b. Hieflau to Palfau.
