Bäckerei Konditorei Gruber: 100% regional Bakeries that still bake bread according to their own recipes in their own bakery are like looking for a needle in a haystack these days. One of the few where the tradition of baking is upheld can be found in St. Lorenzen near Knittelfeld.
In the Gruber bakery, farmhouse bread is still made by hand, without any chemical additives. The sourdough is refreshed twice a day with flour and water and turned into farmhouse bread at night by skilled bakers. Products such as farmhouse bread, organic crusty bread, various wholemeal breads, rolls, Kornspitz, pizza, bacon and cheese rolls, Danish pastries and other delicacies are on offer.
