Schloss Hanfelden Rundwanderung
“The Mysterious”: The circular hike takes you through Oberzeiring and Unterzeiring past the mysterious Hanfelden Castle. Guided tours through the historic walls of the castle are available on request. You then finish the circular hike on your way back to Oberzeiring.
The hike begins at the “Grüner Specht” inn and first leads past St. Nicholas Church across the church square in the direction of “Blahbach”. After the bridge, we walk further east along Bachstraße to the “Nagelschmiedkreuz”. Via Franz-Josef-Straße, past the biomass heating plant and the Waidpark, we reach the signpost “Schloss Hanfelden - Unterzeiring”. We cross a wooden bridge and follow the Roman road to Unterzeiring. At the fork in the road, we keep half left and after about 100 meters we reach Hanfelden Castle. The castle, which is privately owned, is only accessible on Monument Day. The path continues past the “Propstei” castle until we reach the Oswalder-Landesstraße. We turn left and walk along the provincial road to the junction with the main road 514. After crossing, we follow the sidewalk back to Oberzeiring to the starting point. This loop offers a varied mix of nature, historic buildings and quiet paths.
