The WIKI Kindergarten Hohentauern opened a great project on June 14, 2024. Throughout the year, dwarf houses were made from natural materials, dwarves and other figures were collected and stones were painted.
The dwarf forest can now be walked through, but please leave all the dwarves where they are! The best place to start is at the war memorial/pass summit directly in Hohentauern, from there in the direction of the Wichtelhütte. From the Wichtelhütte junction, you will be greeted by small signs for the dwarf forest. After about 10 minutes you pass a large dwarf, from there on you have to look carefully. Small to large forest dwellers and gnomes can be found in small caves, under tree stumps and at the edge of the forest. At the end of the route there is a viewing plateau with a rest area. There is also a box with pencils and stones, so if you would like to support the kindergarten, you are welcome to add to the dwarf forest with your own work of art.
PS: Of course, we are also happy to welcome new dwarf offspring.

More information
Take the B114 to the Hohentauern pass.
You start at the top of the pass, where you will see a small dwarf with an arrow on the other side of the road. Follow the road for about 100m, turn left and follow the forest road up a steeper section. There are always dwarfs with arrows indicating the direction. After approx. 10 minutes you reach the start of the dwarf forest, marked with a sign and the first hidden dwarfs. Continue along the forest path and after approx. 150 m you will come to a barrier, which you can easily pass. The last section is downhill on a path, but at the end there is a small rest area in the middle of the dwarf village. Return via the same path.
Take your time and linger a little at the end of the path and leave a message for the dwarves in the dwarf book
There is a large parking lot at the top of the pass or the Kiegerdenkmal in Hohentauern.
