Many paths lead to the destination, and this wonderful hiking trail also leads to the Schüsserlbrunn pilgrimage church.
This hiking trail is dedicated to Father Franz Kelz. In 1974, when a rockfall threatened to cause the little pilgrimage church to collapse, Father Kelz, together with the then deputy mayor Josef Zirbisegger, helped with the “Save Schüsserlbrunn” campaign to put the chapel on a new foundation.

More information
- We start the hike at the parish church of St. Erhard, first walking parallel to the country road in the direction of Western to St. Jakob.
- Our next waypoint is the wayside shrine “Kogler Kreuz”, where we branch off to the south onto a partly steeply ascending forest. We walk up to the height of the magnesite mine, from where a beautiful view awaits us.
- We continue through the forest on the northern slope of the Hochlantsch, across the meadows of the Zirbisegger vlg. Kropfleichter estate to the ÖAV trail 740.
- We cross two forest roads via a well-maintained path until we reach the Hochlantsch cliffs.
- At the end of the hike, a somewhat steeper ascent with steps and wooden ladders awaits us before we reach our destination - the Schüsserlbrunn pilgrimage church.
A break at the “Bergwacht-Brunnen” is particularly recommended for families. Young hikers can climb the “Kleiner Hochlantsch” - a boulder with a mini summit cross.
