Beautiful alpine tour through  Wildalpen . It's Water is transported from the Hochschwab via Wildalpen to Vienna through valuable aqueducts of the second Viennese HochQuellenWaterleitung. The capital Vienna is supplied with drinking water and it is recommended to drink a good sip of water in Wildalpen at the origin. Rugged, steeply rising cliffs, provided with colorful alpine flowers and species-rich wildlife provide a great natural wonder Wildalpen. On sunny days the salza sparkles emerald green and attracts countless whitewater athletes on the cool water.

Travelling to Wildalpen by car:

From Vienna: A1 Westautobahn exit Ybbs via Wieselburg, Scheibbs and Lunz/See to Göstling an der Ybbs continue in the direction of Palfau, at the Erzhalden junction turn off to Wildalpen.

From Vienna, Eisenstadt: Semmeringschnellstraße S6, near Mürzzuschlag onto the B23 Mariazeller Bundesstrasse and Mürzsteg and Wegscheid to Gusswerk and on the Hochschwab Bundesstrasse B24 to Wildalpen.

From Linz: A1 to Voralpenkreuz junction, A9 to Windischgarsten, Unterlaussa, Altenmarkt, Grossreifling, Palfau and Wildalpen

From Salzburg: A1 on A9 to exit Ardning/Admont, Gesäusebundesstrasse and B24 to Wildalpen

From Graz: A9 Pyhrnautobahn, exit, Traboch (near Leoben) via Präbichl/Eisenerz, Hieflau, Landl, Gams to Palfau at the Erzhalden junction turn off to Wildalpen.

The Hopfgartenrunde has  yellow color as an intermediate marker. The running and walking route is signposted in one direction only. You start at the large signpost next to the Barbarakirche in Wildalpen and walk in the direction of Salza and camping, campsite bridge and the Hopfgarten and continue to the snack station Karin's Stub'n. There you can visit an aqueduct of the II. Vienna HochQuellenWaterleitung very well. The Jausenstation Karin's Stub'n is also the turning point of this route and a section leads straight back. Keep to the right on the paved road until you come to a chapel where the path branches off into the meadow and continues straight ahead. Later, the path meets forest again and some strenuous altitude are to make. The alpine trail moves to the left and keeps almost always the same direction. Finally, he changes the direction, it goes once again  up on the Häuselkogel. At the Häuselkogel there is a wonderful view over Wildalpen. The descent from the Häuselkogel leads a bit steeper down to the road administration in Wildalpen. The path leads back to the Barbarakirche or Café Restaurant Grabner or Hotel Bergkristall via the Salzabrücke. Refreshments: Jausenstation Karin's Stuben in Hopfgarten, Cafe Restaurant Grabner and Hotel Bergkristall in the center  
Right next to the Karin's Stub'n snack bar is an aqueduct of the II Vienna HochQuellen water pipeline.
