The following stage layout is just one of many possible variations.
We start our 4th day stage of the MTB tour "Der große Jogl" in Wenigzell. We ride past the church to the Joglland Oasis, then immediately turn right, past the mini golf course and arrive at the Wenigzell local history museum. Here we keep right and follow the gravel path. A slight uphill section begins at the end of the forest. We pass the Bergler Stub'n inn and continue to the well-known crossroads, the Toten Mann. Various legends surround this wayside shrine, for example that a pilgrim to Mariazell died here.
There are now various options at the Toter Mann crossroads. Cyclists who would like to explore the village of Miesenbach and the Trail Land follow the signs to Miesenbach (option 1).
However, the tour from the Toter Mann now leads us on to the Wildwiese, with its lookout point and the popular Wildwiesenhütte run by the Weber family. We continue to follow the markings until we rejoin the route shared by the two variants at the former Kreuzwirt inn.
At the former inn, we turn right and then keep right again. We turn into a wooded area and stay on this mostly flat road for around two kilometers. After a wayside shrine on the left, we turn right and pass several farms and Christmas tree plantations. Keep left at the next crossroads in a wooded area. The ascent to the summit of the Masenberg now begins. On the way back, we pass the Olmstoll and then the Glückskapelle chapel. We return along almost the same route.
The tour now continues in the direction of Puchegg, a district of Vorau, where we can take a break at the Gasthof Erzherzog Johann Höhe. On the so-called Erzherzog Johann Höhe, just a few meters away, we can also enjoy the magnificent view of the region. From here, it is only around two kilometers to our original starting point and now our destination, Vorau Abbey.
