Bärnmoos over Himmelsleiter

Closed
Short hike to one of the most romantic places in the region. Partly on paved roads, but mostly on forest paths and trails.
The vantage points Dachsteinblick and Hofmannsthal-Linde, the "power place Bärnmoos" and the garden according to the plans and methods of Sepp Holzer around the vacation resort "Oase" are the experience points on this hike.

More information

It is best to plan your journey to Bad Aussee using google.at/maps.
From the starting point, a narrow stairway path, the "Himmelsleiter", leads up the slope to Obertressen. On the asphalted road you walk past the Stieger Inn to the crossroads above the "Oase", a vacation apartment complex for families with disabled people.

Walk along Sigmund-Freud-Strasse to the vantage point "Dachsteinblick". From the bench near a wayside shrine you can enjoy the beautiful view of the Dachstein glacier. Here you turn right up towards the forest and soon reach a right-hand bend through the forest to Bärnmoos, an idyllic place that radiates a lot of peace.

A rest is recommended at the hut there. Later, on a forest path, you circle the plain around the Bärnmoos to finally reach the viewpoint "Hofmannsthal-Linde". Descending the gravel road, passing a few houses, you reach the end point of the hike, the already mentioned Cafe Berta. The circle has been closed. The way back to the city is then again easily found.
