Ski Alpin in Schladming-Dachstein
The ultimate sports discipline in Schladming-Dachstein has always been, and will continue to be alpine skiing. With 10 ski mountains and a grand total of over 230 km of perfectly groomed pistes, everyone will find the hill destined to become their personal favorite. With elevations as high as 2015 meters above sea level, our pistes promise the ultimate high in every sense of the word – with an early start to the season and reliable snow conditions until well into springtime also guaranteed.
The heart of the Schladming-Dachstein region is the famous Schladming 4-Mountain Ski Area. Encompassing Hauser Kaibling, Planai, Hochwurzen and Reiteralm mountains, it offers 123 km of uninterrupted skiing enjoyment. If you get an extra kick out of slicing through fresh powder, you will have ample opportunities to put together your own highlight reel right next to the piste.
In addition to the pistes of the 4-Mountain Ski Area, the region is also home to several smaller ski mountains that are ideal for families and children. With 90 km of blue-rated (beginner) pistes in total, it has never been easier to begin your skiing “career”. The icing on the cake: 17 ski schools in the region with state-certified ski instructors who guarantee a safe, fun-filled intro to snow sports.
If you still haven’t had your fill of skiing later in the evening, the Hochwurzen is the place to be. A 3 km long night hill remains open until 10 PM, with the piste illuminated by a modern floodlighting system. For endless skiing enjoyment, practically all day, and all night long.
Family Ski
The offer for our smallest ski guests is nothing to sneeze at either. With Kaliland and the kids’ play slopes in Ramsau am Dachstein, the KinderSkiSchaukel on the Riesneralm in Grimming-Donnersbachtal, Galstiland on the Galsterberg, as well as Hopsiland on the Planai and Kinderland on the Reiteralm, their every wish is certain to be fulfilled. The carousels, moguls, speaking figures and slides don’t merely guarantee lots of fun in the snow – children also learn to ski playfully and, ultimately, love the sport. The icing on the cake: 17 ski schools in the region with state-certified ski instructors who guarantee a safe, fun-filled intro to snow sports.
Mountain Highlights
Six funslopes – one of which, on the Hauser Kaibling, is an incredible 1460 m in length – promise endless winter fun. On the Music Piste on the Planai, skiers can boogie down the mountainside to their favorite hits, while on the Ski Movie Hills, you will even become the star of your own ski video.
Ski action junkies are also sure to find the rush they crave in the 4-Mountain Ski Area. There are several speed hills with timekeeping, where you can establish once and for all who’s able to charge down the piste the fastest. In the meantime, Superpark Planai with 17 kickers and Crosspark Reiteralm with its spectacular “Hut Jump” both do their part to guarantee an adrenaline-pumping skiing experience as well.
Night Skiing
If you still haven’t had your fill of skiing later in the evening, the Hochwurzen is the place to be. A 3 km long night hill remains open until 10 PM, with the piste illuminated by a modern floodlighting system. For endless skiing enjoyment, practically all day, and all night long.
For the night ski fun an own evening menu is necessary. For guests with a valid ski pass, there is a 20% discount on the evening ticket.
