More information

The journey to Tauplitz is best planned with google.at/maps. From here you can take the 4-seater chairlift to the high plateau.

By car, you can get to the Tauplitzalm from Bad Mitterndorf via the Tauplitzalm Alpine Road (toll).

Start at the mountain station of the 4-seater chairlift in a westerly direction past the Hotel Hierzegger. The ascent to the 1,765 meter high Schneiderkogel takes place via the west side. It is a summit climb of the rather easy kind without much effort. And even if the one or other drop of sweat falls: The dream view is worth every step. The descent is on the east side via the slope and back to the starting point.
A visit to the small mountain church on the Tauplitzalm is worthwhile. With its characteristic roof shape and stained glass windows, it is the perfect place for an inner retreat.

From Tauplitz train station to the valley station of the 4-seater chairlift is about 20 minutes walk. The bus stop is located directly at the valley station.
