SINCE 1964 the bread history of the Steffl-Bäck`s can be told.
Originally, the bakery was called "Lankmaier" and was run as a small but fine bakery by the grandparents Sebastian & Aloisia Lankmaier, in the middle of the village house. With the takeover of Sylvia & Stefan Knapp in 1985, not only a new name "Steffl-Bäck" was created, but also nine catering businesses were opened over the years, the delivery service was expanded to over 400 customers and the team was built up to 140 creative minds. In 2018 and in the 3rd generation, son and master baker Sebastian Knapp took over the business. From then on came the change. 2019 the fire of the production, 2020 Covid19, 2020/21 the reconstruction and relaunch of the modern wooden bakery with a completely new concept: "MORE TIME, MORE QUALITY & SUSTAINABILITY, MORE CRAFT".
SPECIAL EMERGED
Change creates positivity. A lot has happened since September 2020. In just three months, our new wooden bakery became an architectural eye-catcher. Light, wood and elegance dominate. A place to feel particularly comfortable has been created, for employees, for customers, for us, simply for everyone. The spacious, fully visible bakery is not only the best home for our dough but also for our employees. With a dream view and more space, creativity succeeds in making good things even better. The dream "insight" is also available to visitors, because everyone can watch our bakers/confectioners live at real manual work.
In the 1500 m² headquarters, the office, meeting & training rooms also find enough space. The largest part, however, goes to the "Cool Rising" cooling system. It delays the fermentation and thus allows a long dough & natural ripening. The result - good tolerance and quality at all times. Since honest enjoyment is close to our hearts, we work with suppliers from the neighborhood and regional raw materials. A feeling of home in bread, so to speak. Sustainability and climate protection are also very important to us. On the roof of our production is a photovoltaic system, with which we produce most of our energy ourselves. Even the water comes from our own source.
